About Me

Photo of Lisa Harrison, Funeral Celebrant

My background is in theatre performance, communication skills, community engagement and creative facilitation. I’ve worked in a wide variety of settings with people from all backgrounds and of all ages and abilities. I live in South Yorkshire.

My passion is to work imaginatively and sensitively with families, guided always by them, to create as memorable, beautiful and fitting a funeral for the person who has died as possible.

Why I became a celebrant

I came to the idea of being a celebrant after my father’s death, when I found myself playing a very active part in shaping his funeral and his memorial celebration. I discovered the importance of participating in a ceremony specifically created for an individual.

I understand from personal experience how a good funeral enables the bereaved to express their emotions and begin to move forwards in their lives as a result.

My training and qualifications

As a green fuse trained celebrant, I respect individual views and spiritual beliefs and seek to compose and conduct well-structured, imaginative ceremonies. I aim to ensure the ceremony comes right from the heart and is delivered with professionalism and compassion.

I have completed the Level 3 OCN London Diploma for Funeral Celebrants.

My base

I live in Sheffield and work across South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire. For online funerals I can work with you wherever you live in the world.
